The winner of the singer-songwriter challenge of 2015 from Café Bolle in Tilburg!
Kiki Mettler was born in 1996 in a small town near Eindhoven. All her life music was a force that she wasn’t able to resist which made her release that music should be her future. After the wise decision to exchange her recorder for a guitar, she went on an exploratory trip to find her own musical identity.
In 2013 Kiki won a local talent show and her former girl group ‘Four Inspiration’ was born. For a year they gathered experience together. In that time Kiki started writing her own work and she’s now continuing her musical journey in the field of solo performance.
Up until now Kiki mainly writes gentle autobiographic pop songs with a more up tempo guitar play every now and then. She likes to get inspired by pop/folk artists and you can hear that in her strumming. She doesn’t like to keep holding on to a certain music style: ‘I do whatever feels good at the moment, in the future I would like to start writing more upbeat up tempo songs.’
In 2016, Kiki performed more than 70 times at multiple venues and festivals. One of these festivals was the Mundial Festival. It was also her wish to release an EP. In 2017, her wish came true and Kiki released her first EP named ‘Feathers’. Her album was well received by critics. One critic even noted that ‘a better remedy to relax in this busy society doesn’t exist!’
