The Eagles Tribute Band

The Netherlands’ first true cover band of the legendary world-famous group The Eagles.

The Eagles Tribute Band originated from the country band Desperado, one of the best-known country rock bands in the Netherlands. This formation has performed alongside many great artists from Nashville (USA), such as Kenny Rogers, Don Williams and Steve Wariner, who referred to them as “one hell of a band.”

The name Desperado is taken from the famous Eagles song Desperado, clearly reflecting the band’s long-standing love for The Eagles.

After many years of covering Eagles songs and accompanying major artists at large festivals both nationally and internationally, it was decided in 2004 to establish a serious Eagles tribute band. The band was expanded with two additional top vocalists: Wim van de Vliert and Wiliam Kersten. At the same time, a CD featuring Eagles songs was recorded, titled “Talking to the Moon”. This ambitious project immediately proved the band’s outstanding quality.

About the additional vocalists

Wim van de Vliert is one of the most well-known country singers in the Netherlands and a member of Cash Of Delivery, a band in which Ilse DeLange also performed for many years.

Wiliam Kersten is also widely known from the TOP 2000 Band.

For both singers, performing with the Eagles Tribute Band is still regarded as one of their favorite musical projects, alongside many other career highlights. With this top-class band, outstanding musicians, and three exceptional lead singers (Van de Vliert, Wiliam Kersten, and Desperado lead singer Humphrey Wenas), the stage will be filled—both literally and figuratively—with pure QUALITY. This is truly a show to enjoy.

The Beginning

On November 2nd, 2004, Leon Priest of Desperado created a special show for the annual “Starriders Show” festival in Kaatsheuvel, attracting around 2,000 visitors each year. The audience response was so enthusiastic that a follow-up was inevitable. Leon then formed an 8-piece band, including three top vocalists from the Dutch country and pop scene, officially launching The Eagles Tribute.

With a performance lasting 90 minutes or 2 x 50 minutes, audiences will be fully immersed in the greatest hits of The Eagles. Expect beautiful guitar solos, rich harmonies, and outstanding vocal arrangements—exactly what The Eagles are famous for. You will be amazed at how closely these Dutch musicians recreate the authentic Eagles sound.

The band has performed at major events such as:

• Floralia Festival – the largest country festival in the Netherlands (6,000 visitors)

• Bornebroek Festival Tent (3,000 visitors)

• Bruges (5,000 visitors)

• Almere – Main Stage (10,000 visitors)

They have also performed in major venues in 2025, including AHOY, De Vorstin, and the Circustheater in The Hague—clearly a band that can handle large audiences with ease.
