The Young River is a Dutch Country Pop/Rock band. They manage to create a happy atmosphere with their upbeat music. With a combination of Banjo, Mandoline, electric and acoustic guitar they manage to create the Nashville sound everywhere they go.
The band was created when three ‘soon to be best friends’ (Singer and guitarist nick Jongejan, Drummer Gijs de Waal and bass player Timmy Steenstra Toussaint) met each other at the Rock academy in Tilburg. When they noted that they all loved country music, they figured that they had to start a band. After having written in total silence for one-and-half year the band began recording in a studio at the beginning of this year with renowned producer Robin van Loenen (Destine).
The band is influenced by multiple big American artists like Hunter Hayes, Keith Urban and Florida Georgia Line. Classical country music instruments get combined with modern rock guitars. Every song has its own story, from intimate break up songs to energetic party songs.
The aim of this band is to introduce the Dutch and European public to American country music. This summer will be about the ‘You & Me Summer tour’. When they will tour surf camps on the French coast to promote their single.
From October 2019 to May 2020 in various Dutch theaters & Clubs. Dutch top plays Americana, West Coast & Oldschool Country.
