Matthew Crosby is an American singer-songwriter from Nashville, Tennessee. Born to a family of musicians, he began writing and playing his own songs at an early age. He eventually made his way to New York City, performing regularly at clubs around Brooklyn and the Lower East Side, and developing a sound centered in American country and folk music –blending the lyricism of Jackson Brown with the stripped-down experimentalism of Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy. Since 2014, Matthew has been a member of multi-platinum selling country Americana band, The Common Linnets, touring across Europe and recording in both Holland and the US.
His debut solo EP, “Take Only What You Can Carry In Your Hands” was released in April 2016. The follow-up release is set for the spring of 2018.
